Join me in a Post-Racial World

I live in a post-racial world…I can’t wait for the rest of the world to catch up…

Four California high-school students were reportedly suspended for chanting “U.S.A! U.S.A!” and wearing American flag bandanas during a basketball game. While their punishment has since been rescinded, school administrators said “the incident is far from over.”

Oxnard Union School District superintendent Gabe Soumakian told Fox News Radio that “we need to pursue this further” and “work with teachers and students and the community about the concept of cultural proficiency.” Soumakian and Camarillo High School principal Glenn Lipman felt that the students’ actions might have had racist undertones since the schools have large Hispanic student populations.

since when is chanting “USA” racist…seems to me that if anything, “USA” denotes the whole melting pot idea…

A school principal said no white children were allowed at an after-school tutoring program, and now some parents call it discrimination.

The principal at Mission Viejo Elementary in Aurora sent a letter telling parents the program is only for students of color. Parents CBS4 talked with said they were shocked to see, in this day and age, what they consider to be segregation.

“I was infuriated. I didn’t understand why they would include or exclude certain groups,” said parent Nicole Cox…

What’s going on our schools?  The only U.S. institutions that have been integrated longer than our schools are our military services.  Let’s teach our children to treat each other with respect and not grant or deny favors based on race.  I’m not sure how “USA” is anti-Hispanic or why the Principal of Mission Viejo Elementary only wants to tutor children of certain races… but it seems to me that we need to focus less on being hyphenated Americans and more on being…just Americans.

It may well have had some kind of undertones. Anyone who has attended a racially mixed school knows that blacks and hispanics individually and as groups spread their own racial undertones and even those students who are committed to racial equality are targeted at some time in their 12 years of school. It is difficult to not have some feelings that could erupt. We hear the stories of how a black or other ethnic student endured taunts and bullying and we are supposed to pour out our sympathy and understand why they are bitter and may even commit crimes as a result of this racial animosity they endured in school. But what about those not in one of the “protected” minorities who was taunted bullied or worse by members of those minorities. Could it possibly be that these young boys were simply “replying” to taunts they have received? Would it be contrary to political correctness to acknowledge and point out that these kinds of taunts and bullying by minorities are generally the source of taunts and bullying back at them?

I don’t think the proper road to racial equality and all of us getting along is the same road that favors minorities, provides them with cover when they commit racist acts and provide them with “special rights” as some kind of reparation for something that happened long ago to people no longer around. Until we embrace equality to mean we are treated equally regardless of our ethnicity and not handed things or unduly helped for a lifetime simply because of their race we cannot and will not have equality. How do you explain to your son or daughter that it is wrong that someone abuse them but since the bully is black or hispanic there is nothing the school or police will do? How do you prevent animosity when the acts of the authorities foster animosity?

Are you flipping kidding me? Chanting U.S.A, U.S.A. is racist now? Tell that to everyone who were chanting it after the Twin Towers fell or after the Seals got OBL (Osama Bin Laden). We live here….. You know, in the U.S.A.! If you can’t be patriotic, then what can you be? Oh, now I know, a communist like Obama. This is just plain stupid. If anyone is offended, take your a$$ to another country that isn’t the U.S.A.. Let’s see how long your gone. People now days are just brain dead. These people need the psych eval’s…… Not the damn gun owners. Geeesh!
