If you were aware at the time (that is not on drugs or under 18) you will remember that in fact for a year Saddam had trucks running from his bunkers to the Bekaa Valley in Syria. All of the intelligience agencies (not just U.S.) had evidence that Saddam was moving his WMDs into Syria. At the same time Russia was sending daily flights into Iraq to take out their biological program, lock stock and barrel. They sent in their Spetzsnaz to gaurd and control the effort. They did this because they had provided Saddam with his biological WMD equipment and materials and they didn’t want it to found by U.S. forces and embarrass them. You will remember that a NGO (I don’t remember which one) reported on finding tons and tons of yellow cake uranium in a previously secure location in Iraq and they also reported that Iraqis were dumping out the yellow cake to use the drums for water. The U.S. military later came on this very extensive underground site that was Saddams uranium refining site for the construction of nuclear weapons. There were more revelations at the time. Real events and facts that the MSM later seemed to forget and stopped reporting on. This happened. The Russians, Chinese, Germans and French delayed the war in the UN because each of them had provided something to Saddam’s WMD effort. Germany provided high tech machinery, Russia provided the equipment and ingredients to make biological weapons, China provide 95% of Saddams weapons of war, France provided considerable nuclear capability. Iraq was their cash cow and they wanted to prevent the U.S. from ending that. Most likely most of Saddam’s WMDs are rusting in the Syrian desert.
