Today I’m pleased to introduce you to an old friend of mine who will be known in these pages as Infidel.  Infidel has volunteered to be Prepography’s primary firearms editor and unlike many writers and interviewees in the security arena, Infidel is the survivor of a number of lethal and potentially lethal engagements.

Infidel has training, experience and has trained others in a number of security and combat disciplines.  In addition to being my primary firearms instructor, he runs his own firearms training academy in the Midwest.  In addition to over thirty years of law enforcement and military experience, Infidel holds numerous firearms training and instructor certifications.  Infidel’s experience and certifications include:

• NRA Certified Police 3 Gun Firearms Instructor (Rifle, Pistol, Shotgun) and Patrol Rifle Instructor

• NRA Certified Chief Range Safety Officer

• Certified Low Light Tactics Instructor

• Graduate, FBI Sniper School

• Certified as Close Quarters Countermeasure Instructor

• Certified Armorer:  Benelli Shotgun, Glock, Ruger and Colt AR-15/M-16

• Nearly 30 years of law enforcement experience including time spent as
  • A patrol officer
  • A K-9 officer
  • His department’s firearms instructor

• A Detective

• His department’s and a regional tactical (SWAT) unit

• Tactical unit instructor

• Adjunct Police Instructor to the State Police Academy

• Over 30 years of Army Reserve and Army National Guard Military experience including:
  • Multiple mobilizations and overseas deployments including combat duty in Iraq and chasing down war criminals in Bosnia
  • Several military occupational specialties including flight medic and military intelligence
  • Certified Army Combatives (unarmed combat) Instructor

• Spent over 5 years as a volunteer pistol tactics instructor for soldiers deploying to Iraq and Afghanistan

As if the qualifications above weren’t enough, Infidel is also a former civilian paramedic and active in a number of competitive shooting arenas including IPSC.

Infidel’s firearms academy and range is located in Northeast Kansas where he provides training for Concealed Carry Weapon (CCW) pre-licensing,  Advanced CCW, Continuum of Force, Defensive Pistol, Defensive Shotgun, Rifle Marksmanship, Subgun Training (departmental), Defensive Handgun Selection, Low Light Engagement, Tactical Flashlight Familiarization Course as well as customized instruction.  Infidel can provide training on his range or yours (travel expenses may apply).
